TEKO JOINS HEAD HONCHO

Its OFFICIAL  Mamelodi Sundowns captain Teko Modise is the new Head Honcho ambassador. This means that he will now be rocking the Head Honcho gear and it will be one of his duties as brand ambassador to promote the gear and hike their sales.

Head Honcho is a fast-growing local clothing brand that was founded 3 years ago in the streets of Cape Town. The brand now retails at popular sportswear chains SPORTSCENE and SHESHA and boasts award-winning acts such as AKA and LULO CAFE as ambassadors. The brand has also been spotted on celebrities such as Khuli Chana, SABC 1 presenter Boity, Zakes Bantwini, Channel O/Vuzu-TV presenter Dineo Moeketsi, DJ Franky, Lungsta, JR et al.
“I have always loved the Head Honcho gear. It’s always fresh and I like looking fresh in it all the time”, says Modise.  “I’m into hip hop and having the brand dressing one of my favourite artists, Khuli Chana, really motivated me to join the team”.

TRACE Sports launches on the 17th of April on DSTV

Just 5 more days to the launch of the most anticipated Sports channel in South Africa, TRACE Sports - a new channel dedicated to revealing intimate behind the scenes of the world’s favourite sporting heroes. The channel will be exclusively available to DStv Premium subscribers on DStv Channel 129 from April 17th 2012!

TRACE Sports targets sports fanatics and people who love sport . Males and females between the ages of 15 and 49 who are interested in stories about sports icons , legends and rising stars. The channel will give DStv Premium subscribers exclusive access to sports celebrities by letting them into the private lives of champions and champions in the making through exclusive profiles, gossip, news, documentaries and entertainment shows.

Olivier Laouchez, Chairman and CEO, TRACE Group, said: “The launch of TRACE Sports in South Africa is a major milestone for our Group. TRACE Sports will bring the DStv audience a great mix of content where sport meets glamour, where athletes reveal their real life and personality. We are excited to be launching the channel exactly 100 days before the Olympics as we believe that our content will allow DStv subscribers to connect more with featured Olympians.”

Alongside features of global sporting icons such as Usain Bolt, Lewis Hamilton and Roger Federer, TRACE Sports will also broadcast exclusive content with South African stars such as Bryan Habana, Oscar Pistorius, Aaron Mokoena, Natalie du Toit and Schalk Burger.

The programme highlights on the channel include: Up Close With where the champions get to choose the location of their interview; Entourage which focuses on the companions or parents of sports celebs, getting to know the champions through the eyes of their inner circle; Legends which gives a strong documentation of the real lives of those who got to write their names in gold letters in the history of their sports. Joelle Kayembe, the African supermodel and new face of TRACE and TRACE Foundation, will present the signature show In the Name of Good, which depicts the involvement of great champions in causes that are important to them.

Minister of Sports and Recreation Fikile Mbalula is soon to make headlines agian but not necessarily for any political reasons. The infamous party animal is in the process of planning what promises to be THEE mother of all parties in a few weeks to launch the newly formed Fikile Mbalula Foundation (with rumours of African-American singer Akon as his partner). The "Razzmatazz" as he describes it will top his last party; which had international powerhouses such as Keri Hilson, Brandy Norwood and Ray J keeping the who's who of South Afdrican celebrities entertained.

This year as the minister strives to outdo his previous recreational rendevouz; Gabriel Union, Kimberly Elize and Solange Knowles are just some of the confirmed names on his 2012 guestlist that will be toasting the launch of his foundation. New mama Beyonce is a maybe but Fikile has promised that if she does come she won't just be "Singing one or two songs!". Kudos to the politician who still likes to show his wild side every once in a while, now all we have to do is wait and see as Mbalula shuts down parliament woith a bang!
