Keagan wins Big Brother StarGame
Keagan wins Big Brother StarGame
Keagan, Kyle, Lady May, Prezzo, Talia and Wati were all in the running
during the final week but the man from Cape Town won Africa’s hearts
and votes. Wati was the first housemate to be evicted on the night,
followed by Kyle, Talia, Lady May and, finally, Prezzo. Keagan and
Prezzo entered the game on two different sides – Downville and Upville,
respectively – on 6 May and kept Africa entertained for 91 day
Stars of Big Brother seasons past were keen onlookers in the
live studio audience, alongside VIP’s like Zinzi Mandela. African music
superstars also took to the Big Brother stage to take the
finale to the next level. Nigerian hip-hop star D’Banj, Ugandan hip-hop
powerhouse Navio, South African emcee Khuli Chana, award-winning
Ghanaian hip-life king Sarkodie and Nigeria’s Afro-pop star Naeto C all
rocked the stage, giving viewers a night they’ll never forget.
Big Brother StarGame dominated TV screens – but also rocked
the online space. The show generated over 2 million messages to TV, over
2 million unique online browsers, 128 000 000 page views, over 250 000 Twitter followers and nearly 900 000 Facebook likes.
Congrats to Keagan , he is the first South African to win Big Brother , you have made us proud .
Russel Simmons heading to SA
Hip-hop mogul and entrepreneur Russell Simmons is heading to South Africa.
Mr Simmons will visit the country in September as a speaker for the next Destiny Forum event.
Khanyi Dhlomo, CEO of Ndalo Media and founding editor of Ndalo’s Destiny and Destiny Man magazines, says her group is honoured to be hosting the prominent international businessperson.
As co-founder of the pioneering record label Def Jam in the 1980s, he helped launch the careers of several artists, including Run-DMC and the Beastie Boys. His empire includes the Phat Farm clothing line and an energy drink, but it’s his social activism that’s caused some to speculate that he’d make an ideal Mayor of New York City.
Simmons will be presenting on Friday, 21 September 2012 at Johannesburg’s Hilton Sandton Hotel and is brought to you in association with M-Net and City Press.
Tickets cost R850 (including VAT) per person, which includes cocktail dinner and an after-party with Tumi and The Volume.
The Wild Canned
MNET soapie The Wild to be canned, final show in March 2013
M-Net has decided not to commission a third season of The Wild, which means the soap will come to an end on the M-Net channel in March 2013.
“This difficult decision was made based on two interrelated factors,” says Theo Erasmus, M-Net Director: General Entertainment Channels. “Firstly, M-Net ascertained that the monies allocated to The Wild, which is a high-cost production due to the fact that it’s a location-based soap, could be spent on other productions that could possibly produce better ratings in a shorter period of time. Soaps take many months to build an audience, whilst other genres may produce higher ratings quicker.
Since its launch, The Wild has been showered with industry accolades, including four SAFTA awards. Recently, it also received the You Spectacular Award for Most Popular Soap, with actors Ty Keogh and Shona Ferguson also nabbing the awards for Sexiest Male and Best Actor respectively. It even received international recognition with a Rockie Award nomination in a category previously won by soaps such as Days of our Lives.

Yizo Yizo makes it's way back to our tv screens
Yes Yizo Yizo is back as of next week thursday on SABC 1
The popular 13-part local drama series looks at problems faced by pupils in South Africa's education system as a result of a breakdown in the culture of learning and teaching leading to a sense of helplessness among parents, students and teachers.
Issues of drug abuse, gangsterism and rape are tackled. Focusing on Supatsela High School, the story revolves around an autocratic cane-wielding principal who is forced to leave after he assaults a pupil. His successor is weak and corrupt and the situation in the school deteriorates with gangsters and criminal elements filtering
I hope most of your parents allow you to watch this , seeing that back then it was a huge issue due to some of the scenes .
Yizo Yizo airs on the 09th of August at 22h00 .
Papa action is back hehe ........
