Cleo Rinkwest's Lehkolo Moving Pictures “NOW” wins Audience Award

Cleo Rinkwest's production company, Lehkolo Moving Pictures, entered the 48 Hour Film Project where they had to produce a short film in 48 hours. The film entitled NOW was screened last week amongst other contenders at the Cinema Nouveau in Rosebank, Johannesburg. It was announced yesterday that NOW won the Audience Award for the 48 Hour Film Project.

NOW was executively produced by Cleo Rinkwest and Lehasa Moloi, both owners of Lehkolo Moving Pictures. NOW is a drama that entails the lives of five friends on their annual retreat but tension looms as they find themselves in their own emotional ruts. The film was directed by Thabo Rametsi (Class Act Season 1) and stars Cleo Rinkwest, Lehasa Moloi (Spud, Rockville), Loyiso Macdonald (Isidingo) and new comers Mathunzi Macdonald and April Ngoako.

"I've been part of the 48 Hour Film Project for three years now, but this was the first time that I was one of the producers. It was very challenging but an experience that I will never forget. The worst part of making a film in 48 hours - the pressure. The best part? The pressure. You really have no choice but to think on your feet, make a clear decision and run with it!" shares Cleo Rinkwest.

The film was dedicated in memory of those affected by the Pinetown tragedy as it had hit close to home for the crew as their director, Thabo Rametsi, and one of their lead actors, Loyiso Macdonald, both call KZN home. NOW left an impactful message at the end without saying anything, around the importance of living in the now and not taking the people in your lives forgranted.

Lehkolo Moving Pictures will be submitting NOW at varies film festivals locally and internationally.
